Life in "the wait"

As we're approaching the day to begin our "Surprise Me" experiment, I've noticed something. I seem to be living life in "the wait." I realize this as I hear the voice in my head say things like:

"When February 6th gets here, then I'll begin looking."
"A week from today - that's when I'll be keeping an eye out for God."
"If only it were next week . . ."

Silly me. God waits for no one. No surprise there.
